Assessment Policy

What a work review is
At This Present House, we check how staff are doing at work. This helps people grow, serve well, and honor God in their role. The Performance Assessment Portal holds goals, ratings, growth plans, and approvals in one place.
How a review usually works
- People & Culture starts a review period (for example a year or a quarter).
- The manager writes performance goals for the employee (what to do, how we measure it, and target dates).
- The employee rates their own goals when goals are ready.
- The employee submits their part when self-ratings are done.
- The manager adds manager ratings, values scores, and a growth plan, then gives the first approval.
- People & Culture (People & Culture) gives the final approval. The review is finished only after that.
Rules you must follow
- Do not submit until your manager has set your goals and you have rated every goal.
- Do not skip the manager step or the People & Culture step.
- Managers must finish their ratings and growth plan before first approval.
- Be honest. Do not copy someone else’s answers or make up scores.
- Write comments that are fair, clear, and helpful — not mean or joking.
Goals from your manager
Goals should be clear and measurable (we call this SMART). Up to six goals can be set. When the manager submits the form, you and People & Culture can see the same goals. If People & Culture asks for changes, the manager updates the form again.
Scores
Section A is about goals (up to 90 points). Section B is about our church values (up to 10 points). Together they make a total out of 100. Only managers rate Section B. The system adds up scores after ratings are saved.
Growth plan (Section D)
Managers write how an employee can grow in skills. The employee reads this before they submit. Managers must add a growth plan before they approve.
If you disagree
Talk to your manager first. If you still need help, contact People & Culture at hof.peopleculture@thispresenthouse.org. Do not change scores in the system without permission.
Fair treatment
This Present House wants every staff member to be treated with respect. Reviews should not be used to bully, punish without reason, or favor one person unfairly. People & Culture can check reviews and ask for fixes.
